May 6, 2022 - Immediately ready, the 90 Langoa Barton generously gives wild raspberry, mesquite smoke, cedar, beef blood, and worn leather. The palate is more strict, still with tannic backbone to spare. But a beauty with beef and, as is so often the case with Langoa, the glass is emptied with astonishing rapidity… this is to be seized now as it declined steadily over the 2 hours we had it open.

April 19, 2020 - Fully mature, round, medium bodied, soft, very pleasant but for a Third Growth from 1990, a little bland. Kinda an 88-89 point wine, one we happily drink, but not one we really need to seek again.

December 26, 2017 - Gently perfumed nose, faint. Rustic, rusty, ferrous, sweaty, a touch feral, a bit of spice, cinnamon.

November 3, 2017 - From a half bottle yet surprisingly youthful in looks given its still a deep dark red with little browning. A nose of truffles and forest floor. No tannins remain. Drink up. I feel this is probably past it's peak.

June 23, 2017 - Firm. Flourished with 90 mins in the decanter. Some nice, deep, purple, fruit and some fresher fruit. Good concentration, spice. Early on I was preparing to say maybe not the best bottle and perhaps it was not quite.
