November 2, 2019 - Very nice south Italy wine. Fully mature but great in shape. Still this sweetness in nose and mouth -younger would be to sweet for me I think. Nice fruit of black and red berries wood as well tertiery notes but not too much. In mouth nice acidity and tannins, great structure. More complex than expected, very nice. On peak now, please enjoy within 3 years. Wow, evolved nicely during time I opend bottle, very nice

March 21, 2013 - Wine Education Service - Italy - The South (LSE): Opaque, some age.
    Fruity, very attractive nose.
Rich, very dry and spicy but there's a sort of sweetness in the mid palate, very long.

July 6, 2009 - Wine Education Service - Sicily and Sardinia (LSE): Deep blackcurrant, showing age.
Fruit and lavender, chocolate, eucalyptus, very complex nose.
Fruity attack, oak, tannins, lovely mid palate, and fruit at the finish, great length.

July 6, 2009 - Wine Education Service Sicily & Sardinia Tasting (LSE, London): Wow! Deep brooding opaque colour with a brickish rim. Nose of forest floor, some vegetal qualities but with definite fruit too. Blackcurrants and black cherries in fact. Then there is the leather, sweet spice, dark chocolate and tobacco too. Amazing nose! Palate does not disappoint either. Incredibly big, tannic and chewy, yet remarkably smooth too. Spicy ripe fruit persists through a very long finish. Lots going on with this wine. Nicely balanced now, but would even survive a few more years of careful cellaring (as they say).
