April 1, 2024 - Prime time.
February 15, 2024 - Really enjoying this. Agree on restrained fruit at first, but starting to come into its own after some air with an earthy and spicy nose, but the fruit is definitely on the blood orange/pomegranate, more savory side of the spectrum and less towards berry. There's a piney/resin/sappy quality to it that I quite like and lends itself towards lighter food. High acid, low-medium body, integrated tannins. My only bottle so I haven't been tracking its development, but I would imagine this still has a few years left in the drinking window (and not past its prime). ~1/3 the bottle with dinner tonight, going to revisit over the next few days.
August 26, 2023 - Very restrained and quiet. Little fruit or pop. Consider some significant air on remaining bottles.
June 10, 2023 - No detailed note made
June 6, 2023 - Beautiful aromatic spicy and flora nose with cinnamon and maybe lavender. Light, elegant mouth feel. Plenty of lively acidity and red berry fruit on the crisp finish with crunchy tannins. Excellent!
September 11, 2022 - Slightly better bottle than last, keeps being a treat.
November 7, 2021 - Excellent, lean and pretty. Quite esoteric out of the bottle but really came into its own over dinner. Easily overwhelmed with food, tread lightly but paired excellently with after dinner conversation.
June 2, 2021 - Final btl. Fully mature for my palate. Lovely perfumed nose: sandalwood, wild cherry, dry earth and a hint of cherry liqueur. On the palate: excellent acidity, leather, dried cherry, a touch of cherry liqueur drenched dried cherry...entirely attenuated tannin on the finish.
May 19, 2021 - Pop and pour and tasted with food (penne in a fried tomato paste and zucchini sauce, in case you were wondering).
Purple ruby color.
Nose offers red berries and spice; hint of a purple flower note.
Good intro with red berries, nice tart acidity and a lightness and freshness to the wine. Hint of white pepper towards the back end.
Enjoyable.
April 8, 2021 - Drinking really well now. Showing ripe cranberry as well as that pine needle thing you sometimes get in E&M. No rush to drink up.
