August 25, 2023 - Last tasted this vintage of this wine in 2019. Time in the cellar has been generous to this wine as it has improved. While this can age for another 5+ years, it has put on some weight and the tannin has softened to where it can be consumed now with a minimum of a 2 hour decant. While still primary, tertiary notes are starting to emerge but you have to look for them. There is a nice tension and persistent energy that unfolds on the palate. Spring Mtn wines have always proved to be long lived.

August 11, 2023 - Cassis, stewed black cherry, mocha, and dried herb. Chalky tannins. Classic style, if a bit subdued at 10 years in.

June 21, 2023 - Rich deep plum color. Gorgeous nose of rich black cherry and cedar with a hint of dark chocolate. Rich mouth feel and the cherry and dark chocolate really stand out on the palate. Firm tannins tell me this could go a few more years.

November 1, 2022 - Old school cab, cassis, dark cherry. Medium body. Still youthful in color. Tannins not yet fully resolved. Secondary notes just starting. If I had another I would wait until it is 15 years or more.

September 16, 2022 - I enjoy wines from Spring Mountain district, and this is no exception. Great wine similar to the very expensive Cults Cabernet from Napa

February 8, 2022 - By now, this well cellared 9 years old bottle is better than the delicious prior one. Resemble the famous Napa Cabernet Cult.

June 25, 2021 - This almost 8 years old bottle is dark red, dense, lots of spacious legs,. Aromas of smashed basil or cloves. Balanced and 25 seconds finishing.

May 31, 2021 - Nice but nothing special. Soft with a lot of sediment. Certainly not worth the money.

March 8, 2021 - 2 hour slow ox. Nose: Minerally and perfumed red fruits indicative of Spring Mountain. Palate: Soft tannins w/ perfumy red fruits (yum...love the Spring Mountain style). Finish is medium length and elegant. I applied very little air and in my view this is ready now. Drink up and enjoy. Not worth the $65-75 full fare but a steal at the $30 closeout price I paid.
