September 20, 2021 - Dense color, plush nose of jammy black fruit, graphite, coffee, and cedar. Soft tannins and long finish. One of the best Betz Syrah's I have had in some time.

November 9, 2020 - Thick and brooding color. Excites all areas of the palate. Long finish. Great representation of a Washington state Syrah.

September 15, 2020 - Purple in color. 14% ABV. Brooding nose of black fruits, roasted herbs, coffee and charred meats. Full bodied with strong acidity. Dark and savory. Black cherry, blackberry, smoke and espresso on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. Well made Syrah that is just entering what should be a long drinking window. Best over the next 4-6 years.

August 14, 2020 - This wine was singing last night! Blackberry, grilled beef, cracked pepper, scorched earth, coffee grounds. Delicious. Drink now - 2030.

April 29, 2020 - Popped and poured, paired with a pesto pizza. Interesting garrigue flavor that I usually get from French Rhone wines, along with blackberry fruit, bacon and pepper. The garrigue and bacon makes me think this had a touch of brett. No matter, the wine was tasty and paired perfectly with the 'za. Drink now - 2029.

November 10, 2019 - Deeply-flavored blue and dark fruits with fine tannins and a nice finish. Slightly rustic and shows its age more than the 2013 vintage of the same wine tasted recently. Nice, but I prefer the 2013, for it's better freshness and structure (the 2014 lacks acidity and freshness).

April 26, 2018 - Decanted for 8 hours prior to consumption. The initial impression was vanilla/oak which disappeared after the first glass morphing into a sleek and layered wine, although still coiled, which began to slowly emerge over the following few hours. As there appears to be still more to display, this bottle should continue to impress in the coming years.

July 9, 2017 - Tar and olive nose, typical of Red Willow

Intense red with purple at rim

Dense and intense black fruit and olive, very precise acidity, spice and well-tuned structure. Thinner texture than many Wa syrah's
