March 17, 2024 - My first experience with Simone. A fair bit of smoky reduction at first, seemingly burgundy like. That mostly blows off after an hour or so, showing a wine that seems halfway between Rhone and Italy (maybe verdicchio). No fatness, but a waxy texture with unique flavors of lemon oil, fuji apple, hay and dried mint, Brazil nuts, and a decent amount of phenolic bitterness. Layered and long. While I get the comparison to Musar, this leans more intellectual than pleasurable one, and to me Musar is often both.

Chapeau !!!

May 6, 2023 - Don't drink this too cold. 60 degrees should do it. Wasn't sure what to expect, half expecting a fat white Rhone like experience.

August 10, 2022 - WWC Hosting (FWC): Beautiful gold in the glass, with a nose of slight honey. I was excited to taste this bottle, and certainly not disappointed. Very complex on the palate, slightly oily, minor oxidation, low-ish acidity. Very good wine.

August 3, 2022 - Just stunning. The telltale pine resin notes kicking in, waxy palate, layers of honeyed fruits, good acidity and brightness. Asian spices as well (a note of curry). Not going anywhere anytime soon.
