March 23, 2019 - Fine Wines SG - Best of Rhone Valley Grand Cru Tasting (Fine Wines SG): A deep ruby colour. Nose was actually straightforward, ripe and raisiny. The dried berries and raisins followed thru to the palate and formed the core, with a bit of spices in the undertones. Finished fairly long with mostly fruit sweetness. Can tell that this will appeal to the masses, but i found it lacking in complexity

December 8, 2018 - Luis' "Bring a very good bottle" event: This label continues to deliver above its pay grade. Several 2000's of this have been spectacular, and this was just as good. Great aged Chateauneuf character.

December 6, 2018 - Mixed Wines at Tilia (Tilia, Mpls): Dark red color. Splash double decanted. Drank 1 glass over an hour. This really is a lovely, classical CdP showing some maturity. Just a little air and this really shines with an attractive garrigue character, olive, kirsch, violets, dried cherry, and spice notes. The palate has a medium full body with a satiny texture, dark berry fruits, blackberry, cherry and plum, olive tapenade, soft tannins and some spice as this finishes oh so nicely. This is and has been in a good place now for several years, and I see no signs of decline. Should easily go for 5 years and probably more. 94+pts.

November 10, 2018 - Asperg Wine Syndrome Tasting Group: Mostly chubby reds (@Private location): Decanted for about 45min. Clear, medium-deep, ruby-garnet color. Clean, pronounced, developing and multi-layered nose with lots of cassis, other red fruit, herbs, smoke, leather. Complex and beautiful.
Dry, high, perfectly integrated and racy acidity. High, velvet tannin. 14,5% abv are perfectly integrated. Completely different style compared to the 1988 Clos des Papes, but not as chubby and massive as expected. Surely very powerful and intense, but also very fresh, juicy and balanced. Quite complex on the palate with lots of red and blue berries and a long finish. Drinks nicely now, but no need to hurry. This wine will drink perfectly for another decade. 94

September 17, 2018 - One of the better CdP's I've had. This is a beautiful wine that is in a great spot. Singing after an hour of air. Medium bodied but packed with flavour and concentration. Kirsch, garrigue, licorice root, dark and red fruits. Lots of development since the last bottle, probably close to peak or at peak, should hold for a long time. Really fresh still, lively acidity. Wish I had more.
