March 28, 2024 - Medium red, not as bright as I was expecting. Nose quite fragrant, red fruits, some sweet aromas. Despite being a ten year old BR this really does not feel like one, it punches much higher in my view. Which I am very thankful for given how much it costs! Very red cherry on the palate, strawberry, juicy and attractive, refreshing acidity as last time but does require a little time in the glass to get going. As with many of these bottles later glasses were definitely better. Love it, just flat out delicious.

October 6, 2023 - What to say about this? A delight from start to finish, clear and bright cherry red with immense appeal, it just glistens in the glass. So nice to look at. A nose of fragrant sweet cherry and strawberry, a bit of candy. On the palate I can see what other CT users mean about the acidity, it is definitely noticeable and the wine could even be said to be a little shrill, but somehow it just works in such a light-bodied wine. I think I paid £36 which I think is just about worth it, a bottle that delivers pleasure in spades without the need for any serious engagement - these are my favourite red burgundies I think, simple and playful, bringing joy without committment. I'm also glad I left these for quite a while, as despite being entry level this felt more like a three year old wine. Really lovely.

September 11, 2023 - Hmm, what to say about this. Some cherries and a bit of vanilla spice on the nose, cherries on palate with some gentle tannins and refreshing acidity. Is it nice? Yes. Is it worth the asking price? Almost certainly not. If this was any other wine region I’d be spitting feathers at the poor VFM, alas this is burgundy… anyway i like it, i just wished i liked it more.

August 22, 2023 - Found this to be very disappointing, no fruit just acidic and thin. Returned the other 5 bottles in the case…

August 8, 2023 - Acidity is a touch on the high side but it’s still very nice. Surprisingly long finish and unsurprisingly nice strawberry fruit with a touch of spice and development starting to show. The tannin isn’t noticeable at first but builds with air. Nice now but suspect it will improve a bit.3.5+

July 29, 2023 - Tart, simple, fragrant, complete: forget claims that such wines are at Villages level. This is not, but it is none the worse for that: it maximises freshness and prettiness. It is for an indulgent picnic, not a middling dinner party. Taken for what it is, it is rather lovely and carries the Barthod cherry liqueur signature in a particularly 'linear' manner. My score reflects that it cannot give more than it has. Drink now, or on the next sunny day. Do serve at 14C max and perhaps a little lower.

July 8, 2023 - Nice colour - showing its age.
On the nose beautiful nose - floral.
Wine was served slightly chilled in UK summer - which was what it needed.
Very nice fruit - earthy. Very light bodied.
    The acidity was perfect.
    Good finish.
Relatively expensive for an entry level red burgundy but still performed as I had expected.

July 8, 2023 - Jasmine nose, wine opened up as time progressed floral notes. Balanced acidity on palate. Overall very enjoyable Pinot at the price of £36. Only the third red burgundy I have tried so far.

July 8, 2023 - Excellent concentration here, fuzzy spicy fruit, muddy almost but in a good way, and firm but resolved tannins. Superlative for Bourgogne level.
