August 24, 2021 - On opening (at cellar temp) it tasted tart & thin, albeit with typical Barthod purity of fruit. I drank the bottle over about 5 or 6 hours last night (not decanted) and thought it blossomed into a beautiful, elegant drink...even seeming to put on a bit of weight. The last glass was the best....definitely a 'baby Chambolle' & really very good value. This will last (& probably improve) for years, but given enough air is, IMHO, drinking well now. My 6th bottle, and have enjoyed every one, but I think this one the most....only one more left & I will try and leave it a few years...

December 17, 2020 - A little tight upon opening, yielding more in an hour or two, to reveal a slightly dark fruited nose of cherries and wood, fine intensity and some structure. Had almost half a bottle left for next day, when the wine was substantially more open and approachable, and fruit pitch more red towards strawberries, also some forest floor and a touch of anise in the finish. Very delicate and elegant. May keep for some time still.

May 28, 2020 - Drank for several days. Punches way above the appellation. Perfumed and clean bouquet with rose petals, cherry red fruit that replicates on the palate. It's smooth, light and balanced. Can't ask for more.

April 29, 2020 - Cherries, nuts, forest floor and wood on the nose followed by fresh and sappy juice with good intensity and length. Good now.

May 10, 2019 - An easy 90 - when considering the appellation / QPR better than 90... so much better than I was expecting, even given the producer...Nice quality and depth of flavour, balance, aroma... Really very good Bourgogne rouge - or just good red Burgundy that's drinking well already... Bought another case at a slight premium straight away. Good shit

April 27, 2019 - Second time having this BR 14 form Barthod and this keep confirming that it is not ready to drink. Really tight and drying on the palate. It will turn better in some years. Red berries and savoury with good fruit concentration. Some volatility on the nose and oaky overtones.
    89-90 points.

February 13, 2019 - Lovely fresh and crystal clear pinot fruit, with nice nose of cherry stones, nuts and wood, quiet primary. Juicy, sappy palate with nice intensity and length. Needs a year og two find it's balance.

February 7, 2019 - A very intriguing wine. Delightful nose right from the bottle with honeycomb and fruit. A green tinge in there somewhere but not in a bad way. Palate needs an hour but opens up nicely with rather concentrated fruit and e balanced mouthfeel. Really good for its appellation.
