October 26, 2023 - Burgundy Grand Cru Dinner (The Morris, San Francisco): Medium yellow. Distracting acetate and chemical aromas. A complete shame as there was a lot of wine underneath all this.

May 23, 2021 - I’ve really loved Paul Pillot wines but this was very disappointing. Probably flawed, signs of VA perhaps. Magic marker aroma, hot finish.I have 2 more bottles and will hope for better outcomes next time.

March 21, 2021 - Light greenish yellow. Apple, pear, and late zesty citrus. Medium weight but wonderful mouth coating glycerine with the lightest touch of oak. Tremendous purity and cut combined with restrained richness. Fantastic Premier Cru wine. I see that I had it almost exactly 4 years ago in Beaune and that my description of it then was almost identical-wonderful both at that juncture and now, and evolving very slowly.

September 13, 2020 - argh... would have been a great match with the 2010 of the same alongside, but sadly was an off bottle.

  • Ms. Bubblehead Likes this wine:

November 12, 2018 - La Romanee is certainly more expressive vineyards among Chassange Montrachet premier crus. This bottle was no exception. We had a 2014 Caillerets during the same week and 2014 La Romanee clearly stood out as richer and more opulent characteristics. The wine was full bodied with citrus, light peach pie, honey, and lemon cream on the nose, on the palate, rich in flavour with lots of citrus and white fruits, acidity was concentrated yet round, the minerality was gentle with lightly creamier touch, the finish was long.
