July 29, 2022 - Beaujolais Comparative Tasting (Bin 75 Alpharetta, GA): Darker semitranslucent maroon, some age; mushroom and olives, plummy, earth, leather; lighter on the palate, medicinal, nicely aged, slight candy, very juicy, not the longest but really like the complexity and how it is drinking now.
March 11, 2022 - Beautiful bouquet with minerals. On the palate red berries, herbs and spices, good acidity and slightly sticky tannin. 88 - 89
March 20, 2021 - Sort of Rhone-ish with its dark peppery fruit. The back half of the wine is unbalanced by earthy bitter tannins. I'm not sure the Desvignes style is for me.
December 27, 2018 - Served by the glass. A modern label that hides a great quality. Grapes coming from the Javernières terroir in the lower part of the Côte su Py elaborated including stems. The result is a refined, intense wine with hints of liquorice and fresh roses. Delicious. Surely and by far the best producer of Beaujolais and this one of its best wines.
Servido por copas. Una etiqueta moderna que oculta una gran calidad. Uvas procedentes del terruño Javernières en la parte baja de la Côte su Py elaboradas con todo el raspón. El resultado es un vino refinado, intenso, con recuerdos a regaliz y rosas frescas. Delicioso. Seguramente y con diferencia el mejor elaborador del Beaujolais y este uno de sus mejores vinos.
December 19, 2018 - Fabulous expression of Morgon with intense minerality and expression of terroir. Intense black fruits, vibrant acidity, and velvet tannins. Long length of finish.

September 29, 2017 - Dark purple, viscous in glass. Floral, cherry, cranberry, barnyard. Med plus in glass, tannins evident straight away, but softer and well integrated. Good length, black cherry, spice, earthy, olive tapenade. Solid, solid gamay.
April 14, 2017 - Au premier verre le nez est un peu marqué par la réduction et un côté un peu animal à côté du fruit. Cela ne me gène pas trop et je me dit que ça s'ouvrira au fil du temps. Mais ma compagne n'est pas de cet avis et demande au sommelier que carafer le reste de la bouteille; et elle a eu finalement raison car c'est nettement mieux ensuite.
Le nez est ensuite parfaitement ouvert et se révèle être absolument superbe. Un y a une grande profondeur, beaucoup de précision et des arômes envoûtants de fruits rouges, de fleurs type lilas et rose, avec de très légères épices. On a le fruit du gamay et l'élégance du Pinot Noir.
Bouche raffinée, belle matière, texture et touché très agréable, délicat grâce à des tanins fins. La fraîcheur est présente, et donne de l’élan au vin et un bel équilibre. Belle longueur.
Mon plus grand beaujolais et au niveau de très beau bourgogne !
