May 21, 2023 - This wine really surprised me. Though I hear it is primarily composed of Yamhill-Carlton juice, which I love, I did not expect the complexity this wine delivered. Lots of funky earth on the nose, with some truffles and sautéed shiitake. The palate offered some nice floral notes, lots of fine spice, such as sandalwood and cloves, and some herbal notes, such as dill. There was also a nice forest undergrowth. And a fine, silky finish.
This is a very good wine, and it held up well. Typical of Arista. A very classy winery. -

August 7, 2016 - Other than completely taking the Willamette Valley out of the taste profile, this Arista entry is fairly enjoyable. Taking the wine making style so predominant in California Pinots to Oregon, the appearance, complexity and structure is typical of the wines to the South. Not that it is a bad thing for a blend, it is just not Oregon earthy and complex.
A fine wine for a blend, I would offer up several less expensive alternatives such as Four Graces and Belle Pente Willamette Valley blends that would fill the craving. Not bad, not great, and not particularly Oregonian. And not particularly Age Worthy, drink now.1 person found this helpful Comment
