March 7, 2022 - See my 10/2/21 note for background. At that time I suggested waiting another few years based on the amount of tannins. Glad I did not wait. The powerful, fruit forward characteristics are still there. This is still an excellent bottle of wine. However in the last six months, that tannins are far more integrated and more “tame”. Drinking very well right now.

October 9, 2021 - The rating says it all. Freemark rules in the cab world. Hard to find a better cab. This 2012 is amazing

October 2, 2021 - Floral, fruity nose bursts forth upon opening. Dark, dark, cherry red color in the glass. Black raspberry, sour cherry, cassis, tobacco and chocolate on the palate. This is rich...likely the most full bodied and brooding of the Mt. Veeder wines I have tasted. Still a bit tannic at 9 years and that after being open for three hours. Delicious but will wait a few more years before I try this again.

February 6, 2021 - Medium-full bodied. Great balance here. Leather, graphite and blackberry all over the palate. Moderate tannins. Great finish the mimics the palate. Lots going on. No heat. Drink now-2025.
