April 6, 2024 - very good. Great balance and mouthfeel. Slight eucalyptus at first. Smooth finish

January 15, 2024 - So here I go again….letting these brunello age too long. Believing I’m in a safe pocket of time. Putting them on the back and high shelves of my cellar. Thinking time will age them the same as it has me. Something more scarred, yet beautifully faded and beaming with polish, charm, life, and energy 🤣
This looks skinny, frail, wrinkled, it’s weak in flavor, personality and had little charm. I mercily reached for sip after sip, as I heard the same previously told stories recited again and again, without the previous passion during their delivery. The stories were told as if I had never heard them before, but sadly recited with incorrect timelines and missing characters. I knew that age had gotten the best of dear old friend. I became so bored that I said good night before the moon had risen, and very gently pushed the cork back into the full bottle and crawled off to bed with the hopes of visiting yesterday in my deep slumber of a cold winter night….TBC

October 13, 2023 - Schock! Erste Berührung zeigt mehr Altersspuren als gedacht. Kaum Frucht, dafür viel Erde, Tabak, Rauch.
Unbedingt dekantieren! Gerne mehrere Stunden. Vielleicht gerade auch etwas off, daher nächste Flasche 2025.

October 4, 2023 - Silky, full body, cherries & tar, good acid, and long finish

January 1, 2023 - Concur with the note from August. Good catch identifying nutmeg on the palate. Very rich, ripe fruit and long silky finish. Tannins remain strong - even after an hour+ decant - so will likely continue to improve with further aging.

Full Pull Instant Gratification 6 of 8: The Best of Italy, 12/21/2017

(San Felice Brunello di Montalcino Campogianni) Holiday Pickup Schedule REMINDER: Please take note of our schedule below for the end of 2017 and beginning of 2018: Dec 21-23: Open 11am-7pm Dec 28-30: CLOSED Jan 4-6: CLOSED Jan 11-13: Open 11am-7pm ---- Hello friends. Today we have the sixth of eight Instant Gratification offers to close out 2017. This series features wines that are already in the warehouse and ready for immediate pickup. No need to wait until mid-January; these wines are here, available for pickup during our remaining three pickup days (including today), and looking for happy homes for the holidays. IG6 contains a reoffer for a Brunello that subsequently landed on Spectator’s Top 100, alongside a new vintage of GD Vajra’s flagship Barolo that comes with a fantastic Galloni review. Both wines are drinking great; both are outstanding gifts for the holidays or terrific pairings with large holiday roasts. The theme continues: a mere 21 bottles remaining of a Brunello from a familiar producer, one that first earned a 96pt review from Wine Spectator (Bruce Sanderson) and then landed the #20 spot on Spectator’s 2017 Top 100 list.

Full Pull Brunello (+Spring Release REMINDER), 5/1/2017

(San Felice Brunello di Montalcino Campogianni) Spring Release Event REMINDER: We’re debuting several new wines at a spring release event on Saturday May 6. Our partner winemaker in Block Wines, Morgan Lee, will be in the house from 11am to 3pm, pouring alongside Paul Z. They’ll be pouring the new vintage of Chenin Blanc, the debut of Discovery Vineyard Block 1 Cabernet Sauvignon, and the recently-released Full Pull & Friends sparkling wine. Probably a few other goodies too. You’re certainly welcome to come down after 3pm as well. We’ll be open until 7pm, with our usual band of merry Full Pullers behind the bar from 3-7pm. We're expecting an extra-busy day, so if you’re planning to come down and pick up wine, *please do make an appointment using our online module.* ---- Hello friends. Because of our list’s long, steady support for San Felice, we have access today to one of the crown jewels of the estate, on a container that is just set to hit the dock in Seattle this week: OLD ITEM NOT TO BE USED FOR REOFFERS
