June 17, 2018 - Preface- not a Chard fan but did enjoy this one on its own without food. PnP. Delicious chard with a great visceral feel. Deeper flavor than most- of looking for a crisp linear Chard this is not for you.

April 7, 2018 - On the palate, the wine tasted like yeasty bread, but not unpleasantly so. After being open for 2 hours, it did not change much. I did not detect any of the lemony characteristics that other reviewers on CT reported. The wine seems to have some body, so perhaps the best is yet to come. I noted that the wine seemed a little bit deeper in color than would be expected from such a young Chardonnay, but I have no previous experience with Tor Kenward wines.

February 14, 2018 - Straw yellow, clear. Beautiful in the glass. Nose of lemon tart, with a nice combination of tart acidity yet incredible richness. Great balance. It has a touch of astiringency on the finish, but otherwise is terrific and only improved in the hour it's been opened.

April 29, 2017 - Tasted at Maisonry with the winemaker.

Pale yellow color. Moderate aromas of green leaves and tropical fruit. Off dry with a very light body. Crisp acidity with low tannins. Unbalanced to acid. Moderate flavors of green Apple and grass clippings. Medium finish.

    Ok.

April 4, 2017 - Improving ever so slightly on my previously posted notes. Dare I say that I sense that these Kenward Tor Chardonnay's needs time !

After all these are chard's so why or how age them ?
I say..... yes in the case of these Tor's. Just 1-2. Years more

February 12, 2017 - As good a wine as the previous night and not worse but also not any better. Probably a testimony to this more lively wine. Mostly lemon peel with some citrus.

February 10, 2017 - At the start the wine is the rich and buttery style Tor I have come to expect. I sensed however the inclusion of some lemon peel and citrus.
As time passed that fruit acidity began to emerge which balanced the oak quite well and added a lively mouthfeel on the finish. I think this small acidic element will allow this wine to age more and certainly perhaps allow this wine to last overnight without turning pungent which has happened with buttery chards. Let's see. I will report back tomorrow

August 21, 2016 - Full bodied style of Chardonnay, but nice acidity to balance the richness. My kind of Chardonnay.

June 30, 2016 - Napa is not where I would typically go looking for Chardonnay...but never say never. Although it tilts toward the oaky type of CA Chardonnay I don't care too much for, this wine does not tilt too far. Probably much better in five years but I wanted to see what I was getting into with all the rest that I purchased. Thumbs up!
