    October 18, 2021 - Road Warriors Return

    Wine 5

Really interesting Cos - my first 01 in nearly a decade. It's a very pretty wine, to me, different than any other vintage I've had. Had the earthy, mineral notes you expect, but this bottle really came across as softer, and perhaps a tad hollow mid-palate. It's not that the wine lacks - I think it's the vintage. 01 Bdx are fantastic bargains that tend to be elegant. While you know you're drinking Medoc, it's showing the nuance more than the muscle.

    QPR 7 (of 10)

    Aging 2030 at least

October 9, 2021 - Mid-Aged Cabernet Sauvignon Lunch (Mostly Double Blind) (Pixca - Highland Park IL): Tasted double blind. Metay and dense with power from start-to-finish. Black cherry and plum with both sweet and savory spice. Very good now, clearly from a good but less opulent vintage. I have not tasted this wine since an en Primeur visit to the Château in 2004, and it has nicely lived up my expectations from that visit.

September 12, 2021 - Absolutely a beautiful example of a slightly aged Bordeaux. 1 hour decant, it just dance on the pallet with a smooth long finish. Paired wonderfully with a grilled ribeye. Might have to find more of this for years celebrations to come

September 4, 2021 - Starting to show the patina of age. This wine had quite a subdued tertiary nose. Earthy and tobacco notes with a light cedary finish on a medium-bodied frame. I love Cos and have had better bottles from this vintage - while nothing fundamentally wrong, this one just came across as a bit uninspiring.
