  April 2, 2024 - Tasted over 2 hrs
  -med dark red purple mild edge clearing
  -expressive black raspberry pastille wet stone
  -med acidity, med+ weight viscous ripe black raspberry juniper purple grenache fruit, heat on the finish manifests as a bitter medicinal note alongside the ripe med tannins
  -still young but heat will likely dominate this as it matures

  March 23, 2024 - A Few Miscellaneous Wines in Burgundy, Outside of Meals and Tastings; 3/18/2024-3/24/2024: Small glass shared from the next table. Enticingly spiced, surprisingly balanced and alluring right now. Rich black fruit with nearly sweet spice, all with just enough structure in the near background. Very tasty now with upside.

  January 19, 2024 - First 2015 Clos des Papes I’ve had, and I was impressed. Needed all of a 2hr decant but was singing nicely after that. Red fruits + a bit of forest floor. A beautiful, slightly translucent red color. Decent complexity and nice balance. Will improve with age but this is now in the early stages of its drinking window with some air. A compelling QPR, imho. Go buy some or be happy that you have some!

  December 29, 2023 - Opened beautifully after an hour double decant. The peppery blueberries alcohol pinching nose gave space to more red fruit, some cherry, but also rosemary and licorice and cinnamon. Soft mouthfeel, beautiful more garnet than ruby color showing some age. In a great drinking place but I’d prefer it older. Close to the 14th century Papal castle ruin, great sabbatical from Italian wine (and the blood of Christ)
