Community Tasting Notes 4

November 20, 2016 - Floral, rather delicate, dark fruit, spices, smoke on the nose. Good concentration and balance on the palate. The acidity and tannins are well integrated, there is lots of fine, ripe fruit. Vibrant, persistent finish. 91-92+

October 18, 2016 - Approachable now with short decant but definately agree that for any real complexity/integration 2020 is likely the time. Currently fruit forward but with massive tannin on the finish. Nose is definately more expressive with stewed red fruit, mushroom, chocolate, anise, and vanilla bean. For the price excellent (paid £25 at the cellar in Seralunga d'Alba).

April 27, 2016 - This is deep with a darker fruit profile. There’s a floral perfume and it is expansive. Its generosity allows you to take a peak now and enjoy it but there is some serious structure buried just below the flesh.

January 17, 2016 - Importer tasting: Only 600 bottles produced. Beautiful and complex bouquet with dark forest fruits and beautiful herbs and spices. On the palate beautiful and complex as well, a few steps up compared to the Serralunga. Beautiful dark forest fruits, coffee, good acidity, tannin and length. Already great, but some ageing will not heart and it might gain in complexity. Around 2020?
