October 15, 2023 - Nose is briar and wild black berry. This wine is still punching. Good balance liking the acidity.

August 26, 2022 - I’ve never had this particular vineyard before; glad I tried it. Delicious classic Zin, good red and black fruit, spice, relaxed tannins, no heat despite 15.3% ABV. Paired beautifully with grilled pork chops with blueberry jalapeño sauce. Have been on a roll with 2012 Turleys lately after mixed results with slightly older ones.

February 22, 2022 - Opened and poured. Initially light bodied, light ruby to clear. Swirls of reds abound - strawberry, red cherries, raspberries. On the palate - more reds - nice attack and acids. This is the first zin from this vineyard and it's quite an interesting story to read. With air gained some heft and traction, getting darker and heavier with air. The blacks and pepper starting to join the party.

January 13, 2021 - Pleasant surprise. Bold on the front, pepper and spice in the middle, with lingering finish. Fabulous alone. Even better paired with stuffed jalapeños followed by lamb

June 22, 2020 - Deep blackberry and cassis on the palate and showing no signs of either age or excessive heat. Really quite gorgeous showing for a zinfandel.

December 2, 2019 - Crimson in color. 15.3% ABV. Tremendous nose of black and red fruits, peach cobbler, licorice and pepper. Medium body with perfect acidity. Remarkable balance. Raspberry liqueur, peach, strawberry and pepper on the palate. The finish is long and plush. Awesome Zinfandel that is aging beautifully. Without question, the best Zinfandel I have had from Kirschenmann Vineyard. Drink over the next 1-2 years.

October 22, 2018 - Needed a bit of time to open, but it surely did, offering lots of dark fruit--plum, blackberry--and a hint of spice and oak.
