October 26, 2021 - I LOVED this wine. I just consumed my last bottle 16 yrs later and continued to improve each year. Each year the wine got more and more complex. I just wished I had the will power to save one or two.

April 28, 2018 - Little too funky earth for my tastes, but definitely had life and character. Dark rich fruit just didn't offset the uneven flow and funk.

November 29, 2017 - Gorgeous and hedonistic aged wine. Nose is spice, anise, nutmeg, black pepper, earth, and plum. Palate is poised with an earthy, silky tannic note. Finish is long and somehow grounding on a cold early-winter evening. This wine is enticing without being showy.

March 4, 2017 - Another Saturday at Chevalier...Mostly Blind (Chicago, IL): Tasted double blind. I thought it Cabernet from mountain fruit, erroneously thinking about the source of the wine's rugged character. Good concentration, moderate length and nuance. Tannic finish.

July 18, 2016 - drank this over two hours with filet. needed about an hour to open - but when it did it was excellent. Notes of cherry and licorice on the nose. the alcohol was pretty powerful but the taste was elegant and smooth. nice finish without a bunch of tannins. A nice bottle overall!
