March 22, 2017 - Excellent bottle. Based on price and notes here I'd expected a middling, solid but unexciting rose. What I tasted instead was something much more. I've been drinking a few Bandol rose this early spring and some Cotes du Provence as well. The former are firmer and fleshy, riding on their powerful Mourvedre, the latter fresher and crisper, but the young '16s still quite peachy fresh. So this surprised with a serious energy, a verve. Many a rose can present acids, but seldom are those acids so harmonious and well-integrated as to provide this kind of buzz. So, it's my first bottle and I can only hope that the others are as good. The fruit here is light and airy and there is some mineral, but basically it is, at the moment, all about the beam of tense acidity deftly carrying it all. If subsequent tasting confirms, this will be a case buy.

November 9, 2016 - Drank with pizza dinner with Blake at home. Pepperoni mushrooms onions black olives. Went okay. About as well as you would expect. Dirty Salmon color. Pleasant sweet note. Tastes of watermelon rind, greens and strawberries.
