  May 30, 2022 - The wine is intense on the nose. Concentrated, a lot of dark fruits, a bit of oak is still lingering. Clocking in at 15% alc, but not much heat. Still some freshness there. Savory. Nice wine, not as good as I remember. Very Napa.

  March 22, 2022 - In dim restaurant lighting, this appeared to be a dark, rich ruby - black plum, black currant, blackberry, black cherry, anise. Medium acid, medium super silky tannins, 15.0% ABV (it hid the alcohol well), full body, pronounced flavor. Still a youngster. Paired deliciously with a dry-aged bone-in ribeye.

  August 31, 2021 - Popped as a bit of an afterthought during dinner with Mr./mrs HMC seeing that we were running out of wine. Great fruit right from the start, almost too much! Sweet cassis, and a bit of heat in the glass. Improved considerably over the next 2-3 hours. A pretty classic Kirk Venge cab. Big fruit, smooth tannins, lots of cassis and a good acidic background. Had a glass left in the decanter so it sat at room temp for 24 hours til this evening and while the fruit has moved from red currant to black plum it's still very good and might be even a point better? There's still a good amount of acidity noting quite a few more years of health here.....pretty amazing.

  July 19, 2020 - A lot of fruits on the nose, black berries, cherry, with some earthy tone in the background. On the palate, seems well integrated, mushroomy, still load of tannin left but acidity is high enough to compensate. Good finish. Parker gave this one 95. I am a little less generous at 94.
