April 10, 2021 - As always, this great red blend meets and/or exceeds expectations. The 2014 is a blend of Zinfandel (71%), Charbono (16%), Petite Syrah (7%), and Syrah (6%). As expected, Zinfandel dominates both aroma and flavors. Delicious spicy plum and fig notes, with tobacco, lead the the aromas. Plums, black currants, tobacco, and peppery spice dominate the flavor profile. Tightly structured, a bit grippy, but an outstanding year for this evergreen favorite of ours. Every vintage, from 2013 through 2019 is a winner.

February 16, 2021 - 2014 Venge Scout’s Honor, alc 15.1%
71% Zin, 16% Charbono, 7% Petite Sirah, 6% Syrah. Intense nose. Palate attack is zinberry/blackberry. Moderate+ sweetness. Builds in intensity and gains a bit of earthiness over time Some honeycomb and brown sugar and vanilla. Not overly “ hot”. Still very young.
Actually good with curry/mustard sauced pork chops -
