May 3, 2022 - A blend of Chardonnay (53%), Furmint (21%), Pinot Noir (18%) and Pinot Blanc (8%). Furmint is sourced from Somló, while Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir are sourced from vineyards closer to lake Balaton. The varieties are vinified separately in stainless steel before final blending. Aged for at least 18 months sur lattes before disgorgement. 12% alcohol, 9 g/l residual sugar and 6,3 g/l acidity.

Pale lemon-yellow color. Ripe and somewhat leesy nose with aromas of ripe citrus fruits, some toasty autolytic character, a little bit of baked apple, light nutty notes of almond, a hint of hay and a touch of stony minerality. The wine is clean, precise and quite dry on the palate with somewhat ripe flavors of bready autolysis, some nutty notes of slivered almonds, a little bit of ripe Golden Delicious apple, light zesty citrus nuances, a hint of chalky minerality and a touch of hay. The dosage shows very slightly through. The moderately high acidity keeps the wine nicely in balance while concurrently being supported by the fine, crisp mousse. The finish is dry and juicy with medium-long flavors of ripe citrus fruits, some leesy autolysis, a little bit of hay, light crunchy notes of fresh apples, a hint of chalky minerality and a touch of apple peel bitterness.

A nice, fresh and harmonious Hungarian sparkling wine with nice sense of finesse and depth. However, I feel this iteration of wine came across as a bit more straightforward than the previous bottles I've tasted, and the dosage seemed to show a bit more as well. All in all, while this is not a wine to challenge classic Champagnes, this still provides competition for bubblies like French Crémants or quality Cava. At 6500 HUF (approx. 16,50€) this is good value, but at the local price (27,98€) this just can't match the QPR of good Crémants and quality Cavas.

July 11, 2019 - Fun and crispy delicious, with a hint of fruity sweetness on the back end. Throughly enjoyable if I quaffer. Or maybe I just quaffed it. If this this is 12 EURO as other tasters note it is indeed a great value.

November 4, 2018 - weighty, long, and flavorful. Sophisticated and vibrant, the 10g/l dosage obviously well-judged. Differs itself from Champagne with this pungency that marks nose and palate, like to think it's the volcanic terroir but could it also be from yeast development? Stunning value for under $20. 90-91

April 15, 2018 - First known Hungarian sparkling wine experience. Clean, piercing, lifted, and precise. Delightful energy and balance, long lively finish. Furmint's high acid makes it an excellent variety for crafting sparkling wines. A revelation! High QPR.

    July 15, 2017 - A blend of Furmint (85%) and Chardonnay (15%), bottle-aged with the lees at least 22 months, dosage 10 g/l.

Luminous lime green color. Aromatic and somewhat sweet nose with aromas of some toasty autolysis, ripe red apples, some crème à la vanille, a little bit of sweet citrus fruits, a hint of stony minerality and a touch of yeasty French bread. Ripe and pretty dry on the palate with quite full body and some sense of weight. Rather straightforward flavors of fresh apples, rough stony minerality, some white fruits, a hint of creaminess and some waxy character and a touch of greengage. Good acid structure giving the wine nice focus and freshness with quite big and robust mousse. The finish is crisp and quite ripe with long and intense flavors mealy apples, some yeasty French bread, a little bit of tropical fruits and a hint of nutty autolysis.

Pretty consistent with the last bottle I had. Very nice and great value at 12€.
