  March 17, 2024 - Color: dark brick red
  Nose: cherry, herb spices, brown spices
  Palate: cherry, pepper, fresh raisin, earth, tobacco
  Mouthfeel: big spice start, medium tannic finish

  Color: almost inky purple, translucent, thick, syrupy legs
  Nose: dark fruit, blueberry compote, touch of green herbs, cocoa
  Palate: prune, tart blueberry, leather, tobacco, black pepper
  Mouthfeel: soft and silky start but gets very grippy and has a huge, long finish
  
  Selected this for a dinner of 12 hour smoked pork. This is a very big wine and was even a bit much for the bar-b-que but was enjoyable nonetheless. Still has plenty of life left. Very good QPR.

  July 14, 2018 - Dark old vine Monastrel. Dark, heavy weight, dark fruit, maybe prune and black cherry. Packs a wallop with 15 percent alcohol but can’t taste it in the glass. Beware!
