April 18, 2019 - Telmo Rodriguez made this. Very different--not as full-bodied or peachy--as other godellos I've had. I prefer this more elegant style with pale color and melony notes.
December 7, 2018 - I had this after work on 12/7/18. It had a rich, fragrant nose of pear, apple, pineapple, vanilla and spice aromas. The palate was rich, ripe and round with flavors of pear, apple, pineapple, vanilla, spice and minerals.
November 18, 2018 - Godello. Wat een naam. Je kunt er van alles in lezen. In de neus groene appel en de geur van toast. Bijna als gist. Uit het glas een in de mond een volle krachtige wijn. Zalvend als een Chardonnay maar lichter. Floraal. Groen fruit overheerst. Fijne balans. Mooie wijn.
January 18, 2018 - Peach, pear on the nose, rather sweet. Good weight, good acidity on the palate, very linear but certainly well made. Quite serious. 87-89
June 8, 2017 - Nose: creamy pineapple, caramelized sugar, quite some minerality and clean freshness, both ripe and tart pear. Palate: soft entry, quite bold mid-palate, finishes strong but a little hot and greenly bitter. Medium acidity. A little awkward through the palate but generally pretty good. An enjoyable medium-bodied summer sipper, but not much more. A bit disappointing coming from Telmo Rodriguez, and a pass for the price. 13.5%, $20.
January 21, 2017 - 170 NOK. Smakt på Vinmesse, masterclass med produsent. Honningmelon surt smågodt (pære) lukt. Rikt anslag, fyldig kropp, melon, svak syre, svak avsluttning. En del fruktsødme. 3/5
November 9, 2016 - Very nice aperitif wine. Very pale yellow, bright as a button. Lovely nose - initially not great balance but then blossoms into sweetly floral (roses, rosewater, a touch of honeysuckle), some orange blossom, pears and grapes; a little white pepper too. Soft, floral taste - rosewater and very diluted orange barley water and maybe a little rhubarb. Some creaminess in the texture.
July 4, 2016 - Spanish Mixed Bag, Summer of 2016; 7/2/2016-7/15/2016: Nice Godello. Good as an aperitif or with seafood. Clean, fresh pear and white peaches. Well balanced in the mouth.
June 9, 2016 - Quite dry in the palate, which was a surprise. Grapefruit dominant flavour initially, slight wet slate and lemon once the bottle was opened a while.
Not as acidic as expected from this variety. Made it feel a bit flat.
Good wine for the price, but certainly better examples of this variety available with a small step up in price.
