Community Tasting Notes 2

February 18, 2017 - Zesty crisp white with notes of citrus lime, green apple and grapefruit with balanced acidity and dryness. It does not leave a layer of chalkiness to my palate and was pleasure to drink. Finished half a bottle while watching Hacksaw Ridge.

December 16, 2016 - Pop and poured. At home.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of honey, chalk and flint minerality, rich citrus lemon, slight perfumed passionfruit. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of honey, rich citrus lemon fruit, pear, chalk and flinty minerality. Saliva-inducing high acidity on the attack that ends with a rounded leesy long finish.
Very good quality. Now I wonder what Didier Daueneau was so critical about his family's Sauvignon Blanc making practices years ago? This is really good unoaked Sauvignon Blanc. So ripe and nicely balanced. Rich fruit and mineral yet elegant. Give me this rather than some green grassy crap any day! Feels like it could last another 4-5 years easily.
50 year old vines from a single parcel.
