April 22, 2024 - 2 glasses from Coravin. Huge blue fruit on the nose with slight oak. Dark inky purple. Still tart on the palate (very similar to the 13 in that respect), but that will soften. Red fruit on the side with some mint on the finish. Graphite, leather. Long, dry finish. This baby has a long way to go in the bottle. Do yourself a favor and store it for 5-10 years. I will edit/update tomorrow when I uncork and let it breathe. A 2-3 hour decant will do this wine wonders. Edit: I let this one get some air and it soared. I’ll probably hold my other bottles 3-5 years, maybe longer.

April 9, 2024 - Two hour decant and open for business right off the bat. A deep well of black currant, fig pudding, vanilla bean, and spice box held in balance by a spritz of acidity and fine grained tannins. Great with wagyu ribeyes.

February 2, 2024 - Slow Oxed an hour then tasted. Still closed and tight so decanted. Tried another sip an hour later. Better but still tart and not fully open. Kept the wine in the decanter and tried an hour later. Coming around but still not fully ready. Kept in decanter another 30 minutes then poured back in bottle. Dinner of Prime NY steak and Green Peppercorn Sauce prepared. 30 minutes later poured 1/2 glasses in Grassl 1855 Glasses.

Drank over the next hour. Wine is deeply concentrated of Old School, Black fruit CA Cab. Extraction is amazing. No bricking. Fruit is still young and tart after all of this. Great wine but not in my wheelhouse yet. For me needs another 12-18 months in the bottle to become more soft and more amazing. Losing the tartness will be Epic.

February 2, 2024 - Refined nose of crushed blackberries and crushed dried blueberries, Follows up with crushed currents and lilac flowers with herbal overtones. Palate follows the crushed berries and forward firm tannins , mid pallet evolves with a nuance of cedar box of cigar's, and elegant dried plums. Long delightful finish that gives a lasting impression.

January 21, 2024 - Lovely. Notes of dark cherry, very fruit forward. Mellow tannins. Decanted for an hour and it continued to open up. Drank well on its own.

December 25, 2023 - I thought this was going to be a good wine, but I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it was! It was fantastic with the prime rib dinner we had! It was so smooth! We also opened a 2013 Colgin which was also excellent, but I actually enjoyed this bottle a tad bit better.

October 5, 2023 - Deep purple. On the nose blackberry, plum and earth. When drinking, lots of dark fruit with blueberry and raspberry notes. Long finish, nicely balanced by acidity. Went wonderfully with the steak dinner we had.
