May 15, 2023 - Rocks fruit apparent from the start - lots of funk, smoky hints, iron tang. Fruit has blended with funk and wood and moved into less primary stage. Texture is gorgeous and the low acidity indicates to me that this was the right time to finish my last bottle of this vintage. Very good length. The Rocks district produces unique formulations of anything grown there and, in this case, Nurture dominates Nature. Easily identified as Rocks fruit; practically unidentifiable as Tempranillo but I like it.

December 19, 2022 - Paired beautifully with the final report of the January 6th Committee. 2 hour decant recommended.

November 21, 2022 - Popped and poured; left some of the wine in the bottle, refrigerated, and finished the following day. This is a solid red wine. On the nose, I primarily get brine and yard mulch. In the mouth, this is chewy with redder fruit and a smoky element. The finish emphasizes the savory character of the wine. I had this with and without food, and it was markedly better with food, both in the mouth and (oddly) on the nose. This shows a bit of the funkiness associated with the Cayuse family of wines, but it is dialed down quite a bit. I really didn’t get much in the way of grape-specific aspects here. I’d put this in the good picnic/bistro wine category, which may make it somewhat overpriced. 90 points.

March 19, 2022 - Fantastic and perfectly integrated. Slightest note of rocks funk. Really good.
