March 21, 2024 - A Good Wednesday: Bertheau x3, Arnoux, Geantet Pansiot, Niellon, Guffens Heynen; 3/20/2024-3/22/2024: Intense red fruit. Perhaps the most Chambolle-ish of the wines on the table in that it's got no hard edges at the moment. Very elegant- cherry fruit- menthol- sophisticated- slightly ripe. Good table wine, if you get my point. If only it was half today's asking price.

January 4, 2024 - At stopover in Basel. Colour shows some early evolution. Nose is quite interesting. Rather singular and full of personality. 1er Cru depth and complexity here, easily. There is a leafy element mixed with peony and very cool fruit notes, think lingonberry. Palate adequately follows on the nose. Some moderate tannic bite. It is a Brawny Pinot in a cool year profile if that makes sense. A (very) good '14.

September 2, 2023 - My third tasting so far and the best showing too. Pronounced nose intensity with notes of red fruits, red cherry, strawberries. Medium+ acidity and medium tannin. Very aromatic on the nose.

July 22, 2023 - Tight as hell when we had it the night before but blossomed the next evening. A serious Chambolle, dark ripe core and not shy on the oak treatment. Tannins are soft, but very elegant on the palate. Not my idea of Chambolle, but, it’s nice

January 20, 2023 - Double decanted before corkage. Medium+, perfume-y nose of violet, ripe red plum, cassis, baking spices, vanilla, smoke, and forest floor. Oak seemed a little heavy-handed at first but that dissipated with time, while also showing herbaceous notes likely from the stems. On the palate, great spine with high acidity and medium silky tannins. The medium- finish was disappointing, with some red fruit notes lingering for just a bit after swallowing. Surprisingly fresh for a 9-year-old village wine.

April 23, 2021 - Mid crimson. Deep yet high-toned aromas of Morello cherries, Sous-Bois, mint, rosehips, crushed stone. Some stalky elements with a savoury edge.
Medium to full-bodied, the entry is juicy, with firm sinewy tannin and crunchy acidity cutting through the fleshy fruit. Flavours lean towards ripe red cherries, redcurrant and sour red plum, and spicy oak notes.
Still relatively young, the wine needs time to integrate further. As the wine opened in glass, more stem notes appeared as well as a dustiness. A long, slightly saline finish.

December 18, 2020 - nose - grapey, also smells of dust, or dusty possessions
mouth - the fruit here is charming and pure, but overall I view this as being rather simplistic. DC noted it to be somewhat rustic; for the price I would gladly take 2 Bea San Valentino Rosso (Umbria) over one of these.
