June 16, 2017 - From the Yeenunga vineyard iin the Seaview/Blewitt Springs area

The vines I am not sure some say 80 year old others 37 approx. does it matter ?

Founded by ‘Masters of Wine’ Willunga 100 wines have been made by industry legends Stephen Pannell, Tim James and former maker of Penfold’s Grange, Mike Farmilo.
These guys know what they are doing.
The nose is slightly oaky, a bit of alcohol, cassis pushing through.
    The body medium to full.
On the tongue, soft ,a little tannin that grips at the end, a bit of acid, medium fruit that lingers a while.
i can't quite get to the 96 points of the pro reviewers, but on the other hand they are closer to the truth that an 85 or even a 88.

    Retasted 8th September 2018
The fruit has come to the fore and is very soft and broad on the tongue, almost luscious.
Has softened out very little tannin ,the nose is still oak and alcohol.
Bumped it another 2 points to 95 .this is really a very very good wine.
The wine looks crimson colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle.

June 9, 2017 - Loads of black fruit and earthiness on the nose. Dry with high alcohol which is somewhat overpowering. Nice complexity, but lacks aftertaste.

May 10, 2017 - (Dinner w Rong, Loong and Lim) Rich, red fruit, currants, plush velvet textures. Richly developed, juicy sweet, lovely concentration. Drinking nicely - better than the last bottle 10 months ago) and paired nicely with treats from Uncle Bill.

October 3, 2016 - A dark, brooding Grenache. Meaty and leathery, a decently weighted wine that needs some time to soften off imo.

August 21, 2016 - (Lunch w Chirong@Java) Rich dark red berries on nose, anise and five-spice. Mild structure, bright acidity, rusty red earth. Takes time to open, perhaps in its quiet phase. Perfect foil to Java's signature Rendang Sapi.
