March 29, 2024 - Much better showing than the previous bottle. Nice red fruit, balanced with background earthy notes. fresh acidity, enough tannin for structure, but ready now.

November 21, 2023 - First of two bottles bought at auction, followed over several hours. Splash decanted off minimal fine sediment. No formal notes, this came across as less fresh and structured than other xinos I’ve had. Not bad, but not interesting either. If representative, drink now. Hope my other bottle shows better.

September 20, 2020 - Great wine, classic Greek style. Reasonable overtones of leather, so better with food. Paired very well with lamb (surprise!).

June 1, 2019 - Brick red, Nose of red cherries, strawberries, roses, iron, tar. Ripe fruit on the palate, med tannin, med acidity. Good persistence. Appreciated by a company of xino-neophytes who blindly took it for a decent Langhe Nebbiolo. For me another confirmation of the reds of this winemaker.

November 26, 2018 - PNP. color light garnet. can't quite place the nose but blind would have guessed italian. swishing this shows terse acidity and tannin structure. sipping this transforms the structure though, and this is lithe with just enough fruit to keep the structure down. very nice wine.

November 7, 2018 - Honestly not sure if I've had a more appealing red wine from Greece. This stuff is cool. Quirky and fun; torrefaction and fresh air whirl together playfully. Fruit flavors are in equal proportion to non-fruit flavors, which might make you think this could fade quickly, but I don't think so. There is probably not a ton of room for improvement, but it should remain delightful for many years. Ethereal and deep at once, with beautiful aromas of dried herbs, olives, roses, tobacco, chocolate... it has a delectable note reminiscent of the caramelized juice that oozes out of a roasted sweet potato. Fruit flavors are mainly of the dried variety, with just touches of fresh fruit and liqueur: tamarind, currants, cherry and tiny wild blueberries. Elegant and not even close to full-bodied, almost light but it has great impact. Lively through the finish, tannins are fine and satin textured, carrying lots of savory flavors. What will this become? It certainly improves with a few hours of air, opening up on the nose but remaining tight-knit on the palate.

September 17, 2018 - P&p; drinking well right away, and quite aromatic. Open-knit cherry, rose, cedar, black pepper, orange peel, beetroot and tomato sorts of aromas. Similar on the palate, fairly light in weight but full of flavor and interest, held together by good acidity and noticeable but fairly moderate tannins. Some nice underlying depth, earthy and a bit savory. Some clear oak influence, but so seamless and complementary, it really seems to belong. Good length, with a refreshing touch of bitterness in the finish. Characterful and thoroughly enjoyable.

Day 2 (stored refrigerated in a half-bottle): Drinking perfectly well, with practically no change.

    May 17, 2018 - Greek wine tasting at K&L.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colur with garnet rim. Thin legs.
Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with a bouquet of floral roses, sweet ewrth, dried red cherries, sour Morello red cherries. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium- alcohol (12.5%), very soft and fine though high tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet earth, sour red cherries, sweet ripe red plums, tomato, stony minerality. Very long finish.
Very good quality. Such a nice bouquet. So soft, so pleasant on the palate. Definitely has a traditional Barolo/Barbaresco and Burgandian vibe thing going on. I suppose this could age, but would not survive long in the cellar as it's hard to keep oneself from popping it.
