January 31, 2020 - The lower cuvee to the Monte Bello frankly shines at this stage and albeit it lacks the depth of the Monte Bello the lower use of oak and extraction ( at least felt like that) make it more approachable and crowd pleasing albeit also a bit too obvious. Will not fail but also will not set off fire works. 90

January 11, 2020 - Opened and consumed with lemon-garlic grilled pork chops and roasted potatoes. Pale straw color with a golden hue. The nose brings intense candied pineapple, lemon curd, melon, and orange fruit. The palate is medium-light, round, zesty, and concentrated, bringing high-toned tropical fruit basket, tangerines, nectarines, pears, yeasty funk, and lemon drops with some chalk and granite on the lengthy finish. This is balanced and well-made, almost too sweet for my palate, but still very impressive. Drink 2020-2024. Technical score: 93. Enjoyment score: 92.

December 26, 2019 - Smooth exotic spices with a kiss of melon. Extremely complex with a soft minerality and very integrated oak aftertaste. One of the nicest Chards I've ever had. Just beautiful with King Crab....

December 15, 2019 - What!!??? Just incredible!! This wine keeps getting better and better - and by saying that I mean it keeps firming up and gets fresher and fresher? How that possible? The acidity in this bottle is right on the money!! Like a rich Chassagne-Montrachet! Alas I only have one bottle left. I don’t drink much Californian wine anymore but I only have love for Ridge! Wow

November 11, 2019 - Best Ridge Chard ever??? This is delicious!!! Nice biting acidity suggestive of grapefruits. Flashes of a top Beaune Burg! Semi-lush with hints of ripe, mature tropical fruits. Long-ish finish. This seems like it’s peaking, but I have to admit that it has enough acidity to keep going for 5 more years. I just don’t know how it can get any better. Love it and a great QPR! Paired well with sauteed crab cakes.
