April 5, 2024 - Alain Voge - Cornas - Les Vieilles Vignes 2014. Gave it one hour after opening. Deep red color with violet reflexes. The nose is driven by black fruits and has an earthy character with a bunch of spices. Its full bodied with soft tanins. Elegant and powerfull at the palate. Its well belanced with lovely acidity.

    Love this Domaine !

This wine is from my first visit and a marvellous tasting with Alberic Mazoyer which I will never forget.

    Cheers !

January 20, 2024 - Sampled at Oinoscent, bottle brought by colleague. Tasted 1.30 hr after open.
    Bright clear color.
The wine shows density, red fruit core, fine sweet spice and oak frame.
Palate is juicy, mineral, showing tensity, red fruit again, tannins with a bit of a kick, textured, elegant with only a few bitter notes in the long finish. Give it time and keeps expanding in the glass.
    A nice long life ahead

October 30, 2023 - From a bottle that had been opened the day before with half the contents remaining so these notes are from Day 2. The wine pours a deep purple with a ruby rim and a near opaque core. Medium+ viscosity with significant staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing and already brimming with confidence. Bright blue bramble fruits, lavender, black pepper, olive tapenade, some well oiled leather and some baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The body and supple texture is distinctive. The finish is long and satisfying. From a Cornas perspective, this is less wild and more polished but that’s not a slight. This is a beautifully made Cornas from one of my favorite vintages in the Rhône over the last 15 years.

August 25, 2023 - Still very primary. Unctuous, rich, concentrated.

July 15, 2023 - It has been 4 years since I last tried a bottle and that was in France with a rude sommelier. The bottle was open almost 5 hours before we started drinking it. The nose was red fruit. The palate was dark cherry, red plums, some fig a hint of tobacco and a touch of spice leading to long full finish. Served with a platter of grilled steak and sausage.
