May 7, 2021 - Very deep black cherry, between youth and maturity. Nose of mineral, saddle leather, cherries. Palate a little lighter than expected based on the color, primary grape and cherry, a bit of stemminess and just a hint of green, with tannins that build through the finish. With its very ample juicy acidity, this is drinkable now with the right food and a very long decant, otherwise I would hold this and retaste in 6 or 8 years.

April 26, 2021 - Definitely the most underwhelming of the 2000 Bordeaux I have had so far. Also compared to other Leoville Barton vintages a disappointment. Not really showing substantial improvement over past years. I doubt this will ever shine...

April 18, 2021 - Having read RP's notes on this wine, I am a little surprised that my bottle opened up quite softly. Right on open, the wine had ripe black current, blueberry, heavy mushroom and hints of cigar box. On the palate it is very consistent with nose, mushroom notes is very distinct, slight sweet yet mellow tannin, good finish.

April 9, 2021 - Friday Wine Group - CH (Blind Dinner): Tasted blind - cherry and red fruits, plus some earth and funk on the nose. Earthy red fruit on the palate, definitely some tertiary flavors, and a lasting finish.
