June 22, 2019 - Much like the recent 1990, a textbook example of a quality Médoc. Brilliant nose and a really lovely, full, lush body. But the flavors are still somewhat reticent. Should be fine in time.

June 20, 2019 - Heidi's Redux: Some Serious Wines (P.S. Steak, Mpls): Dark red/purple color. I don't think this got a decant, but I believe it was open for a good bit of time. Drank next to a '00 Montrose which was much more youthful and in need of air and time. Same bottle as Chablis28. This was impressive and drinking great for what I consider a young LB at 19 years now. This is a big wine as you'd expect from the vintage, but I mean that in a good way. Dark fruits, great fruit, socrched earth, full bodied, ripe tannins, graphite, still largely primary but oh so good already. 93+ to 94 with much more upside. There was a discussion about the '00 vintage and some didn't think it would ever live up to the hype. My feeling is that it will, but it's ging to require even ore patience than usual.

June 20, 2019 - Preferred this to the '00 Montrose tonight but again. due to its relative youth and scale, overshadowed in the presence of Kevin's near perfect 82 Rauzan Segla. Dam happy to own a couple of these those. This too would impress more in a dinner of 2000 and younger BDX.

June 11, 2019 - Two notes: (1) opened, decanted for an hour and then evaluated; (2) then vacuum sealed put in refrigerator for a day and then evaluated

    (1) Inky oxblood color, no bricking
    (1) Cassis, green stems, cola, tree bark and cocoa on the nose, very tight. (2) add iodine, graphite and sweet plum to the nose profile - much more generous
    (1) Cassis, licorice, sour cherry on the palate. Nice acidity and long mouth watering finish with powdery tannins. However, flavor almost disappears beyond the mid-palate. (2) considerably more weight and fruit, add pomegranate and add orange rind on the finish but still thin in the mid-palate.
My verdict - needs time, maybe a lot more time.

May 27, 2019 - This is in its drinking window. Old leather and musty (pleasantly) book pages with black currant and blackberry jam. Super well balanced and completely soft and integrated tannins and a medium long finish.
