September 3, 2022 - Napa Cab Afternoon (DV Central): Part of a Napa Cabs tasting double-decanted and blind
Opaque black hue. Pronounced nose of ripe black cherries, berry compote, sage and mint. The fruit and savouries carried through on the palate. Very good structure to this wine, Acid, alcohol and tannins were integrated. Medium plus body and a longer finish. Some found this a bit too tannic for its age but I had already dug into the bleu cheese and grilled filets so I had proteins and fats on my side. I was impressed with its age and level of quality. Bargain wine of the tasting. Tied for my WOTN.

August 20, 2021 - Raw Tobacco, black olive, and a touch of currant aromas. Deep ruby red, soft velvety tennis, and nice acidity. Flavors of blackberry, plum and vanilla. A nice black pepper finish.
Opened 4 hours early, and then briefly decanted.

October 24, 2020 - PnP. Nose of leather, tobacco, dark berries, and a fleeting savory note. Loads of berries on the palate. Structured tannins. Medium length finish.

This is good juice. Plenty of life left.

October 14, 2019 - 2 Hr. decant. Much less than expected. Not flawed that I could tell, but not much here, especially after tasting the 2008 - which was stunning. Have another bottle, hoping for a better result with that one.

August 6, 2019 - A young’un but surprisingly approachable with a PnP. Tannins are present but soft and dusty. No obvious oak. Good acidity. Concentrated (but not ripe or cloying) dark cherry and black fruit, plus mint and some eucalyptus on both the nose and palate. Good stuff.
