March 4, 2023 - With venison medallions in a balsamic reduction, polenta, vegetables. This was surprisingly far along in development for a Brunello of a mere 13 years. There's still fruit, but it was dusty, a bit leathery, and more herbal. The tannin is present, but smoothed out already. I think I'll finish the other bottle of this before I drain any of the other '10 BdMs that are still in the cellar, as this one doesn't seem likely to improve a lot more.

February 20, 2021 - Tea color in the meniscus. Takes a while to open & mellow. Dark cherry, licorice, tar & dry leather with some sharp, tart edges that persist

June 19, 2020 - Exactly what you want from a Brunello. Red fruit of mostly cherry. Some floral notes, and a pencil sharpener. Great balance A bit a brett blew off but left just a slight wet straw note on the long finish. Paired great with a 3 lbs tomahawk steak.

December 31, 2019 - Slightly funky nose - earth, tar, mildly sulfuric upon popping cork. Nice bright red fruit, tangy medium acid.
