October 9, 2021 - Decanted 3 hours because Sea Smoke is notorious for not being PNP, so here goes. In the decanter you would almost think Cabernet by the color, but in a glass you can see some translucency. The nose is Pinot Noir on steroids; fragrant of sweet flowers and candy store of a textbook PN. As it swirls on the palate I get the softened and sweet cranberry flavors with a touch of vanilla that remind me of high end Oregon wines, but darker and more intense and highly extracted but more Burgundian in style.
