December 27, 2018 - No wired smell from this one, first of four bottles. Pretty closed on the nose after 5 hours in the decanter. Dark purple. Juicy. Dark berries. Pretty weak compared to 2011. Will wait with remaining bottles.

October 27, 2018 - 2015 Northern Rhones Blind: Single blind. Holy poopy diaper! Black fruit nose has a significant shit note that is tough for most to get around. I wasn't quite as troubled by it. The palate is cleaner with plush and juicy black fruit. A bit simple on the palate. Weird wine, and not nearly as good as the Les Cessieux, which is also in the line-up.

October 27, 2018 - Most of the 2015 Northern Rhones worth a damn, blind (Chicago, IL): Served single blind. Pretty much went straight to Souhaut on this wine, with its unpleasant nose of farts. Stinky and dirty and really unpleasant. If you can get through the nose, the palate has some pleasant red fruit. But that's really where it ends: the wine comes apart on the finish, with the alcohol showing in a fairly disjoint way: sharp elbows and all that.

August 18, 2018 - Tasted double blind. Brief note. Guessed N. Rhone. Thought this might be Benetiere as it was made in a ripe, balanced, and feminine style. Nose and palate show floral jasmine, floral red and spicy black peppercorns, salty green olives, bay leaf, granite and iron. Midpalate is super velvety and without any rough edges with structure that is there but not overt. Long finish is primary but oh so pleasurable and has the stuffing to evolve into something great. A real treat to try and will seek out this producer.
