December 25, 2021 - Popped'n poured, with smoked turkey for Christmas dinner. Drinking well for an '05, especially a Corton

March 27, 2021 - Dark fruit, grilled meat and black olives. Earthy and complex. A zing of acidity cuts through the dense full bodied fruit, giving this very nice balance. Superfine but assertive tannins will give this plenty of longevity.

March 13, 2021 - Popped'n poured with dinner - this bottle was a big bigger and burlier than the first. Still in early drinking phase, but needed food, and likely would have benefited from a decant.

February 16, 2021 - Balanced, minerals most evident, but fruit was tired. I suspect the bottle was subject to too warm a temperature before i purchased it. Still, I enjoyed it with lamb.

February 6, 2021 - PNP and over 3 hours. Seems primary at this point. Nice flavors of dark cherry and earth but has not yet come together for me. Will wait 5-10 years before trying again.

(Bouchard Père et Fils Le Corton) There are many dimensions to this deep, wide and dense nose, though the fact that it's been in bottle only a few days might have taken away a little gloss. Very soft entry on the palate but you are soon bathed in soft, finely grained tannin. There's real concentration yet there is balance too. The wine opens out well on the palate and is impressively long. This will require years and years in bottle, but is always well priced for the quality.
