Some vegetal stink on the nose which (mostly) blew off with vigorous decanting, leaving a lightly spicy, black tea and minty nose, then an acidic, raisiny palate with some alcohol burn. Seemingly over mature and falling to bits. Time to wind back my cellaring expectations for this cuvée and get into the other older vintages in the cellar!

May 1, 2012 - I agree with others that this wine may have been better when young. On the palet I taste tart cherry and/or rasberry and some spice. The finish was long with more fruit and spice.

December 25, 2011 - Very disappointing - good nose, but no usual chateauneuf 'farm yard' palate. Got no better breathing. Forgettable.
