May 7, 2021 - Brutal, brutal, brutal upon opening. Salty. Acid so pronounced it was barely bareable. Tannin ripped my jaw off. Calmed down after 2 hrs of air. And then it was just lovely. I think this is not, really, in the window - for me a hold. Next bottle earliest 2024.

(later added: serious wine, serious concentration. Will be great.)

October 15, 2019 - a large scale wine with still fierce tannin. hold for 2 more years

February 5, 2019 - At dinner so basically no notes other than smooth, resolved tannins but while approachable definitely needs more time in bottle.

November 26, 2018 - Liked this wine very much. Seems to have lost some of the more lush fruit it had in its youth but not undesirable by any means.

May 15, 2018 - Barolo & Barbaresco $50 Double Blind (Bin 75 Alpharetta, GA): Pretty see through pure crimson, pale rim; lovely rose, not as intense, mint, dark cherry liqueur, very fresh, almost watermelon, warm strawberry showing a hint of jam; soft elegant palate, savory, meaty, youthful, no oak influence noted; tasty with very good potential.

(Azienda Agricola Elvio Cogno Barolo Ravera) Light red color; aromatic, cranberry, tart currant nose; soily textured, delicious, dried cherry, dried berry, sandalwood palate with good balancing acidity; needs 6-plus years; medium-plus finish
