October 19, 2021 - One word of advice - decant. I didn’t, and it took a good two hours for the wine to open up and do more than scowl at me. When it finally decided to play ball, in the middle of the fifth inning of Braves-Dodgers, it first displayed a multi-faceted aromatic personality of black fruit, rare beef, low floral tones, olive, nutmeg and orange peel. Each sniff revealed a new aroma. The palate stayed more monolithic, but the depth was impressive, and with good alignment of fruit and tannin left no question about extended ageability.

September 27, 2021 - It took a good four hours open for the true character to come out and play. Dark ruby color with no fading or sediment. Medium-profound aromas that start off with smoky pepper and clove, followed by cherry, raspberry, and apricot notes. Still quite young and coiled up on the palate but it's full of wonderful subtleties that should play out in due time. There is a certain attribute of the tannins that display a cushy softness while still being fully present to carry the fruit through a haunting finish. I think it's a good candidate to accompany a meal, though I enjoyed this bottle all on its own. I'd love to try again in 3-5 years.

July 2, 2021 - Very hard to see past the ethelyl acetate. Very little Syrah character. It did have some ripe/dried fruit and some chocolaty oak aroma. Tasted again 24 hours later; still too much EA.

December 18, 2020 - Lightly spicy and peppery blue fruits with excellent balance and a great finish. Detailed, nuanced and delicious, in an only 13% abv package. Delicious, and even better than the last bottle.

October 13, 2020 - Pop and pour. On the nose: blackberry, bramble, a soft hi-toned note, simpler than previous vintages at a comparamble stage imo. On the palate: fantastic acidity, blackberry, green pepper (stems inclusion?), soft bbq notes, brine...excellent salinity, and soft tannin on the finish. Good.

August 30, 2020 - 93 points for current drinking with a significant upside. Gorgeous nose. Significant tannin on the palate needs to resolve for this wine to reach it's full potential. Tastes like a Northern Rhone. does not display the overt Syrah character that comes through in most new world Syrah. Light on it's feet with good acidity, focus, and finish.

April 9, 2020 - Very interesting syrah with more development still to come. Really put on weight in the decanter. Started off very high acidity with more pronounced red fruit. Over time the fruit profile darkened and some more savory characteristics emerged. Interesting today but will improve.

March 28, 2020 - Peppery and delicious blue and dark fruits and a really nice finish. Seems quite ripe, yet is only 13% abv.

March 16, 2020 - Perfumed nose is redolent of raspberry, dark chocolate, violet, and stem-derived spice. Pure and full bodied, rich with raspberry and spice. Needs time to integrate both oak and stem. Drink starting 2024.

February 5, 2020 - Very attractive dark plum color in the glass. Just the slightest hit of fruit--plum, blackberry--on entry. A restrained Syrah--medium bodied, very sedate tannin, and even, light acid. An OK wine--not offensive, but, really, nothing memorable.
