April 9, 2023 - Cork stained dark dusty purple (is that even a color?) and about 1/3rd infiltrated, but not compromised. Not a heavily extracted syrah but very decent level of fruit, just not over the top. Improved in glass and over the next 2 days. A lovely syrah that has just enough fruit to be flavorful, but not so much as to blow the top of your head off. threw a fair amount of sediment. It felt ready if not close to peak, and based on my experience, may hold up for 5 more years. I liked it and would buy again, as it's a good middle of the road wine, not intended as a slap, but most should find this an agreeable bottle. Recommended. Dumol does a better than average job of whatever variety they put their hands to.

June 29, 2022 - This syrah did have a different profile than most. I also think the acid was more upfront too. Medium weight, just a tad sweeter too. Fruit was blackberry for me. The depth of fruit gives this above average weight but also not complex. It sits comfortably between having enough fruit for flavor but not so deep and complex as a top tier syrah. I like it. As such I see this having wide appeal. Tannins are present, stronger than expected, but not overwhelming, and receded second day. Decent amount of sediment also, as I stored this on side and a good coat of sediment on glass. Another reviewer mentioned good tension, and I see that from the strength of both the acids, fruit, and to a lesser extent the tannins.I don't know why, but I expect most syrahs from California to be similar in flavor. I rather enjoy Alban Patrina, Tensely, and Carlisle, but this differs (in a good way) from those. Recommended, and I'd drink this between now and no later than 2024. But I would be pleasantly surprised if this went longer, especially if the fruit stays moderately together.

May 21, 2022 - Dark, nearly opaque garnet. This is not a meaty syrah, but a delicate one. Floral nose of lilacs, with a subtle cool menthol. On the palate, dark berries, lively acidity, and not insignificant, yet fine, drying tannins. Well made, with no hard edges: pleasant and balanced, but still lacking overt complexity, consistent with my 7/20/2016 note. I'd hoped then that this would develop with time; with the acidity and tannins, it's worth revisiting in a couple more years.

September 9, 2021 - Good but not over the top good at this price....that was a little disappointing. okay nose....maybe my taste buds are off today...a little too acidic or something for me. Better the first day after opening than the 2nd day after refrigerating and opening again.

July 18, 2021 - Pop and pour, but otherwise consistent with previous tasting note.
