January 3, 2020 - This is an excellent version of Osso San Grato.
The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It tastes like mineral, stoniness, violet and tobacco. The body is medium/full. The wine finishes long. The wine has high acidity. -

July 19, 2019 - Late night impromptu session at Maison Dakota. Drank in Grassl Cru.
Poured through Vinturi into Zalto decanter. Drank over the next 2+ hours. Austere at first. Opened up after 1+ hours only.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour with wide garnet edge. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of herbs, stony minerality, ripe red cherries. With air, more fragrant perfumy violets, earth, iron, and some sweet rubber. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (14%), fine high tannins, sneaky full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet ripe red cherries, strawberries, red licorice, herbs, stony minerality, some sweet rubber and iron. Long grainy earthy finish.
Very good quality. Austere now. Really needs a lot of air to coax it out to play. For the long haul. This needs at least another 6-7 years. Points should improve. -

April 8, 2017 - Opera Wine 2017 - 100 Great Producers (Verona, Italy): { OperaWine2017, Verona } I'll admit to being disappointed today. Not in the wine, mind you, but in where it is at the moment, which is no where near available. As if it's cloaked like some Ferengi warship, it's there, right in front of you, but it's not, not really. Some vintages of this wine come out swinging, then go into a slumber period, this may well be one of them. Or, maybe the particular bottle today was just somehow muted/off, I don't know. But if I'm being honest, and based on today's sample, I'd say leave this alone for at least 4-5 years, it's got some distance to cover before it'll arrive.

September 11, 2016 - Fairly muted nose at opening. So decanted it for a few hours (4 hours). It did it much good as aromas of ripe black fruits (cherry in particular) started to appear. Very good tension, very Nebbiolo-like in colour, perfume and aromas. Good tannins balancing the alcohol and fruitiness. Velvet texture. Recommended.
