November 10, 2021 - Five wine friends and two guests (Restaurant Olivijn (Michelin star) Haarlem, The Netherlands): A sweet start, not so pronounced, some friendly bitterness, some spices, nice aftertaste, but côte à côte with the Yquem '90 is too demanding for this wine.
June 16, 2018 - Expressive on the nose - dried fruit, tropical fruit, honey, spices, flowers. On the palate concentrated and quite rich, impressive acidity, well integrated and very well balanced. Elegant, refined, very persistent. Impressive. 93-94+
June 1, 2018 - Bordeaux 2015 in bottle (Zurich Arvi / Singapore UGCB): Medium gold. On the sweeter side especially after the racy Guiraud. Honey lemon, quince, honey. Complex finish
March 12, 2018 - Racy, with its acidity, this is just great. Concentrated with overripe pineapple. apricot, and assorted luscious tropical fruits, everything is coated in nuts, vanilla and honey. Concentrated and light on its feet, this is already delicious!
February 14, 2018 - Nice nose of confit ananas, very fres.. Taste loads of ananas, sugar… Good nose, but not great taste
February 6, 2018 - UGC Tasting Amsterdam 2/5/2018: Nearly always I find this wine too dramatic and also this '15. Very sweet, I like a bit more acidity to compensate the sweetness.
February 5, 2018 - Amsterdam UGCB Tasting and Winemakers' Dinner (Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky / Café De Klepel): Tasting, brief note. Pure and precise, honey and tangerine, resembles the elegant style of the 2014, but with more power and weight, subtle bitters, very long.
January 25, 2018 - Union Des Grand Crus de Bordeaux Tasting of the 2015 Vintage, nose of caramel, very floral like fresh cut Roses, honeysuckle, and butterscotch, same on the palate, big body, very tasty, rich fruit, almost fruit forward, almost elegant, tasted three times and a fabulous Sauterne with a fabulous future.
January 25, 2018 - UGC Bordeaux Tasting - 2015 Vintage (The Metreon, SF): Beautiful green tea with toasted rice and saffron (botrytis) and high acidity - like dried oranges on the finish, with a classic tea-like bitterness that's in perfect balance. (note: it's not particularly bitter, but I had it pointed out to me, and now I'm noticing how the bitterness adds to the structure, like the bitterness in honey.) Complex botrytis notes - all different shades of genmaicha, saffron, wax, honey, slight VA, etc. Lovely.
