March 30, 2024 - Lovely golden color. Fantastic fruit on the nose
citrus, pineapple, apricot, mango. Just an incredible
scent. Very unique. Hints of fresh flowers.
The palate continued with the strong fruit flavors
candied tropical fruits, dried fruits. Sweet, but not
like a port or sherry. Honey - wait, jam/marmalade.
Oh god, yes, an apricot marmalade. That's it.
The finish? Lingers with you.Intense.Can stay
dreaming about the flavors for a few minutes until
    your next sip.

March 10, 2024 - Yummy moldy grapes! Tropical fruit like pineapple alongside apricot, honey and saffron. Incredible body and weight on the palate without being too sweet, there’s some acidity still to help balance it also

March 2, 2024 - Always great quality in this chateau. Strong apricots and gentle botrytis with enough acidity to balance sugar. Very pleasant.

January 28, 2024 - Nice nose of apricots and botrytis. Same apricots and vanilla on the palate, acacia honey, pineapple to add some tropical flair. Very sweet but with enough acidity to support it. Very pleasant overall. Not sure about ageing though. It seems ready to go, I would not hold for more than 5 years. I find the acidity just enough to support its sweetness now. I understand my note regarding to ageing is definitely in contrast with previous notes from other users.

January 21, 2024 - See previous notes. Amber gold in glass. Pronounced intensity on the nose. Apricot marmalade, oranges, burnt caramel. Good acidity, with a medium finish that’s slightly off balance to warrant a higher score.

January 20, 2024 - 94% Semillon, 6% Sauvignon blanc. My first experience with Sauternes. Popped open the first night to take a sip before enjoying the remainder tomorrow. Pours a deep golden, really beautiful color. Nose is unlike anything I’ve ever had, smells of marzipan and dried pineapple. Dried tropical fruits really, I feel like I can pick out pineapple, mango, and kiwi especially. Honey on the palate, and a note I can only describe as Dole mandarin slices in their own juice, which I don’t think is a bad thing. More of the dried tropical fruits on the palate. Acidity is very refreshing, and the sweetness is not in any way cloying. Very balanced. Incredibly complex, maybe finishing notes of dried apricot and overripe mango. So many flavors I feel like I could pick out if given enough time, but that’s a wrap for day one. Showing nicely on the first day, enjoyed with some Roquefort that paired fantastically.

On the second day it was paired with Roquefort, dried apricots, candied pecans, apple tarte tatin and vanilla ice cream. Same nose as yesterday, the palate has developed into vanilla and dried tropical fruits. Truly one of the most delicious things I’ve ever tried. Incredible. Opened my eyes to the world of dessert wine. Very rich, incredibly delicious. Wow.

January 17, 2024 - Eye: Deep gold and copper-orange in some lights.

Nose: It smells the way that Sauternes should. Semillon; poached pear and apple and apricot. Just a hint of baking spice in this young phase.

Palate: Good crisp acidity. Honey and orchard jam. A light touch of toast and nuts. There is just the gentlest hint of orange blossoms, and grass. Bit of prune, dried dates, and dried apricots.

Finish: Long. Lingering acidity and honey gives way to toast and gentle crisp apple notes.

Overall: This is a lovely classic Sauterne with the potential to go very far.

NB: Drank from a half bottle.

December 27, 2023 - Tasted this against ‘01 over 2 days which was a great opportunity to compare differences in age. On day 2 this was quite nice, fruit flavors were way more balanced. Nice acidity, mandarin flavors on top of banana custard notes. Affirms a new personal decanting rule that I will double decant and drink young sauternes (under 15 yrs old) on day 2. Day 1 this didn’t show well.
