July 23, 2015 - This wine is singing right now! Deep red with brownish hue that indicates age. Interesting sweet aroma of strawberries, spices, hint of menthol, a bit earthy (or maybe cheese rind ?) Velvety smooth on entry, feels really full and juicy on the palate like juicy red fruits. Finishes with a drop of earthy spice on the back end. Really love this!

March 1, 2014 - - Ruby color with medium forming legs. It's balanced with a medium body. Smooth texture with a medium finish.

February 19, 2014 - Wow! Translucent reddish brown. Sweet aromas of ripe strawberries and cherries and spices. There's black coffee and brown sugar on the background too. Given the age of his wine I was surprise how evident the fruit flavors are. Lush with ripe red fruits on the foreground and concentrated red fruits and spices on the backend. Really nice!

January 3, 2014 - Looks like 5 years in between bottles but sacrificed this one, my last, for the virtual tasting note charity over on Wine Berserkers. This note goes to help feed others through Brig's association to the Resuce Mission. I'll take a crack at this note over a few nights. Right out of the bottle, there are some secondary notes popping up--a hint, as just a touch of that spice box note that comes with older wines. Black cherry, sweet strawberry, little creamy edge to the fruit and good delineation in the wine's finish...then drinking on Day 2, I will say I like the wine more with a chill. Some of the tartness mentioned by others in their TNs, I can see that and I appreciate this quality, as it keeps the wine fresh and it's more prominent too when the wine is cooler. Kind of a tangy strawberry quality. I also can sense the remark of cola, that is akin to a root beer note. All in, where the vintage comes into play is in a riper, fatter plum flavor, the cola note too. This wine is in a transition place, between a young wine and one with some age beginning to show. My opinion would be to drink this wine now, as the flavors are well enough in synch and given the 2004 vintage, I just don't see why one would age this vintage.
