March 31, 2020 - This is drinking nicely, even benefited from an hour of air. Next up will revisit the 08 and 09.

January 27, 2020 - Dark chocolate and cherries on the nose, pleasant. Very nice, bright cherry fruit, some blackberry, plums and a note of licorice. Smooth tannins, nice acidity and good balance. There is a burst of bright red fruit on the mid-palate. Finishes with nice length, bittersweet chocolate and red fruits. Nice wine with pasta, not great. Drink over the next two years.

January 13, 2020 - Not as fresh or structured as in previous years. Still a good drink, but I would finish remaining bottles soon.

September 4, 2019 - Not my preferred style of Italian wine, but that's beside the point:
this is only the second unflawed bottle out of five opened in the last three months. Will be delighted to get the last two out of my hair--drink up!

July 14, 2019 - A much fresher bottle than the last one we opened a month ago, and it got better the longer it was open--but not much structure left. Drink sooner than later.

June 20, 2019 - Aged and nice evolution, but not over the top. Still freshness present and slight sweet point. Dried red fruit and potpourri. Reminds me of the poggio valente 06 (see my notes of may and march '19 there), which imo found himself at the exact same spot in its evolution. At peak, and I don't think for many years still. Drink now.

June 17, 2019 - Might be a bit past prime, earth driven with fading acidity. Still drinking well, just seems to be on the downhill.

June 3, 2019 - Brown, decaying. Well over the hill. (Good cork, so that wasn't the issue.)
