September 18, 2023 - This was a gift from our neighbors in 2017, thank you Bob and Sherry! I actually forgot all about it! Decided to pull it out and WOW! Beautiful ruby red, with a nose of cherry and raspberry. I decanted for one hour due to its age and glad I did. Chewy tannins, some peppery notes, nice acidity, blueberry and plum. Nice long finish, too.

It's 2023 so I moved the drink by date to this year, honestly believe it still has some life to it, thanks to the 14.9% ABV.

January 31, 2022 - Oustanding. Decanted for a few hours and this bottle delivers. Bold, and a little more boozy than I generally prefer. But big dark fruit, black cherry, oak, vanilla, leather, chewy tannins. All very harmonious. As my tastes have evolved more toward Old World wines over the last 5 years, this remains a staple.

May 27, 2019 - Tip: drink this wine in the winter to enjoy it immensely more

The very first whiff of the wine commands your attention. Dark garnet is color. Full bodied. The prominent and alcholol and fruit comes through. This is a powerful wine with 15.8% alcohol. The comparison to Toro in another review is spot on. I also got the sense that this wine was a little too “manufactured”. I could not drink much of this because this was the second wine of a very sultry, warm evening, and the wine was too powerful. It am sure this shall be much more enjoyable in the winter.

May 6, 2018 - This is a good but not great example of cabernet franc. I enjoyed this paired with some lighter fare like bruschetta, but it is not quite bold enough or complex enough to stand up to richer fare. Short legs and lack of complexity mark this as an enjoyable but not perfect wine.

July 28, 2017 - Fruit? Check. Tannins? Check. Acid? Check. Chocolate? Check. QPR? Double check.

We love this, bought a case. You will be hard pressed to find such an interesting drinking experience at the price, as long as you can appreciate 15.3% ALC.

Here we go...I'd call this the US version of Toro.
