October 9, 2021 - Agree with Texasbob almost entirely. Chalky on the palate. Sour red cherries. Waiting for the evolution, tomorrow will tell a lot. Not sure it has the chops for another ten years though. A blend of Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. I suspect it is heavily weighted to the first two varietals.

December 29, 2020 - Blood-red ruby color. Intense strong red cherry with solid wood on the nose. True to the name, it has a texture approaching chalky and features strong oak with sour red cherry notes. With time it softens and it’s more red cherries than sour red cherries, but the key elements of wood and cherries is constant. This should be able to ride for another decade.

March 6, 2020 - Well made solid wine I’d happily drink or recommend.

December 22, 2019 - My wife and I really enjoyed this wine, for one thing it doesn’t taste like oak barrels. Pure fresh berries from the first sip, refreshing and atypical.

July 29, 2019 - Not bad. You are greeted on the nose for me with slightly dark slightly rustic fruit which opens with time to reveal fresher aspects. The palate reflects the nose with acidity keeping everything in balance. Touches of chocolate and tobacco add interest. For me a perfect wine for pizza or grilled meats. Dave

P.S. I think Wine Ratings review is spot on. Especially his comment on the finish.

(Zorzal Eggo Tinto de Tiza) Phenol55 REMINDER: Full Pull has partnered with Chris Abbott and Phenol55 for *optional* storage services for our list members. P55 is a full-service wine cellar less than ten minutes from our warehouse, in the subterranean basement of the Malt House in the heart of Georgetown. See here for more details, and then contact Chris if you’re interested in signing up. --- Hello friends. We have a new vintage today of one our import hits: Zorzal Malbec from Tupungato in Argentina. And this time, it comes with a bonus: a well-reviewed, all-cement-egg-fermented blend from the same producer. Wine Advocate: Copyrighted material withheld. We don’t have access to a whole lot of this, so I’ll keep it relatively brief, and say that this is still predominantly (90%+) Malbec, with small splashes of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. It’s a nervy beauty, with intense berry fruit drenched in citrus-peel acidity and tangy/salty minerals. The density and purity at 13.9% listed alc is difficult to fathom.
